    HR Information System Analytics Intern

    The IAEA accepts a limited number of interns each year. The internships are awarded to persons studying towards a university degree or who have recently received a degree (see Internship web pages for further details).

    The purpose of the programme is:

    To provide interns with the opportunity to gain practical work experience in line with their studies or interests, and expose them to the work of the IAEA and the United National as a whole;

    To benefit the IAEA's programmes through the assistance of qualified students specialized in various professional fields.

    The duration of an internship is normally not less than three months and not more than one year.

    Organizational Setting

    The Division of Human Resources (MTHR), within the Department of Management, plans, acquires and manages human resources to effectively implement the IAEA programmes. It thus delivers the full spectrum of human resource services, including HR organizational development and planning, talent acquisition and development, performance management, and administration of compensation and benefits. The Division serves a multicultural workforce of approximately 2300 people from diverse scientific, technical, managerial and professional disciplines.

    Main Purpose

    The intern will support the work of Human Resources and specifically the HRIS (HR Information Systems) function, enriching services provided in the field of workforce analytics, using advanced statistical methods and tools. The final objective for the intern is to develop business cases together with HRIS function, demonstrating potential impact of policy changes aligned with Agency-strategic priorities.

    Functions / Key Results Expected

    ? Support HRIS function with responding to data queries and/or analysis;

    ? Support HRIS function with statistical knowledge and analysis;

    ? Explore options for further utilizing BI landscape (Power BI and OBIEE) as to empower IAEA staff members;

    ? Maintain and contribute to the development of MTHR KPI's;

    ? Assist with ad-hoc requests related to administration of HRIS services.

    Qualifications and Experience

    ? University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration or similar.

    ? Ability to communicate orally and in writing on technical and non-technical matters.

    ? Experience with the Office Suite (especially Excel) and either Python or R. Additional experience with Power BI, Google Analytics and/or OBIEE is an advantage.

     Applicant Eligibility

    ? Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.

    ? Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree.

    ? Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.

    ? Good written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish or Russian) an asset.

    ? Candidates must attach two signed letters of recommendation to their application.

    Organizational Setting

    The Division of Budget and Finance manages the financial resources essential for full implementation of the IAEA's scientific and technical programmes. The Division provides financial services and solutions for programme budgeting, treasury, payments, payroll, financial accounting and reporting to support the IAEA's mandate.

    Main Purpose

    As a member of a team led by a Unit/Section Head in the Division of Budget and Finance, the intern will assist in handling diverse financial operations from different business areas using the Agency ERP system (Oracle) and participate in adhoctasks or projects to improve efficiency of financial operations.

    Functions / Key Results Expected

    Responsibilities of the internship position range widely depending on the assigned unit. They may include, but are notlimited to:

    ? Assists with gathering information and financial data to conduct analysis needed for preparation of financial reports and various change initiatives.

    ? Assists with the design, testing and implementation of new solutions to improve efficiency.

    ? Assists with the review and documentation of financial policies and procedures.

    ? Assists with planning, implementation and monitoring of specific tasks or projects managed by the supervising unit.

    ? Assists in drafting reports and meetings minutes and preparing material for presentations.

    ? Provide assistance and support with monitoring of financial transactions, reconciliation of accounts month and year-end closing activities and operational activities of the supervising unit.

    Qualifications and Experience

    ? University degree in finance, accounting, business administration, information management, mathematics or statistics;

    ? Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint), strong skills in Excel an asset.
